Video Game Music
Mockups
This is a series of mockups I've made for potential video games.
Wastelands
Wastelands is a series of music designed for video games set in deserted wastelands, or nightmarish post-apocalyptic worlds. Games, for example, like Fallout. The music is meant to capture a sense of solitude and emptiness, but also a sense of uneasiness and impending doom. I have to give a tip of my hat to Inon Zur for being such a great inspiration to me for this project.
Final Fantasy V-II (Zukain Games)
Final Fantasy V-II is an independent sequel to the original Final Fantasy V being produced by Zukain Games. I signed on as the composer for this project in the winter of 2009. The soundtrack draws heavily from the original game, and even goes so far as to use the original retro sounds from the SNES cartridge. Most of these tracks are original, but a few are arrangements of the original soundtrack, in which case I have to give credit to Nobuo Uematsu for his compositional genius.
Saga Horizon Production Company
S.H.P.C. is an independent video game company. They were founded in 1995, and they've been working hard ever since. I began writing for them late in 2010, and will continue working with them in the future.
Quest for the Muse
In my senior year at Duquesne University, I was tasked to put on a 60 minute recital showcasing my original compositions. Since I had so many smaller Video Game pieces that I'd never premiered, I decided to program my own game in RPG Maker VX, add my own original soundtrack, and play the game live for an audience. Though the story may have been hasty and cliche, the music was widely praised for creating an absorbing and entertaining experience. A gameplay video can be found below.
